Every winter the Cardiff Churches get together and run a NightShelter at different locations around Cardiff. The NightShelter offers a hot evening meal, a cuppa, a chat and the chance to play boardgames, a safe place to sleep, normally a cooked breakfast and often a packed lunch.
At St Peter's we have a shower, a free clothing store and free toiletries

Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who has donated clothing and bedding to this cause. Your generosity has been overwhelming. No further items are now needed but, as the weekly laundry bill amounts to £40, we are planning to have a second collection in a few weeks time to cover this. Any donations which you are able to give in the meantime will be of great help and gratefully received.
Numbers last week were 22 for food with 20 staying overnight. We has a hairdresser who popped in and most of the guests had a haircut (was much appreciated by the guests). Hopefully they will come again. One person was turned away this week as he had been banned the previous evening - there were a few disagreements early in the evening, but all quiet overnight. They are a good group this year.
We had to reduce the numbers as last week there were too many people on the floor in the hall and with the renovations we have limited room. Lots had food but we only had 12 overnight as we had to enforce name on the list policy to ensure everyone got a good nights sleep. All well behaved, eaten and fast asleep
21st Dec 18 - St Peter's night shelter is up and running - THANK YOU to everyone who has made this possible
CONTINUING SUPPORT FOR THE HOMELESS
We will continue our support for the homeless by keeping a stock of “All Day Breakfast” vouchers from Granny Mac’s on City Road. To contribute to the cost of this scheme, just place an offering in the “Alms” box in the porch. Each breakfast costs £3.60.
Please keep in your prayers Rene Pilska, one of our regular Night Shelter guests, who passed away last Sunday (April 18) at the Huggard Centre
