CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY: FRIDAY 23rd FEBRUARY
This is another opportunity to support our brothers and sisters who do not have enough to eat. This Friday, can you give up a meal, or eat a simple meal, in solidarity? With malnutrition still killing almost three million children a year, your fasting, prayers and donations will ensure more of God's children have enough good food to eat. And this Lent, your donation will make double the difference. For every pound you donate to CAFOD, the UK Government will also donate a pound, up to a total of £5 million, meaning twice the number of lives can be transformed. Twice the number of children can have the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong. Please use your Fast Day envelope attached to this newsletter and give generously - In light of recent news report you may wish to know CAFOD has a statement about safeguarding vulnerable communities on cafod.org.uk and a copy is on the parish notice board.
Please place your CAFOD FAST DAY offering in the buckets as you leave. For anyone who forgot, envelopes are still available in the porch and may be given in next Sunday. This year, the government is adding £1 to every £1 we donate.
We welcome a number of our Confirmation candidates to the 9.30am Mass for enrolment. A good number are still away on half term breaks however, and will be enrolled next Sunday. Do join us in the Community Hall, Bedford Street for refreshments after Mass.
