Christmas Events

When shopping for Christmas cards, please have a look at the wide stock available here in St Peter’s.

The shop also has a range of Cribs, Advent calendars and simple gifts including children’s books, all aimed at keeping Christ in Christmas!

To beat the rush, come and browse from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Monday to Thursday.

The shop is also open on Sunday mornings.

CAFOD - World Gifts

If you would like to give a gift this Christmas (or at any time of the year) which makes a real and lasting difference to families living in developing communities, please take a brochure from the back of church. It explains how you can order a gift card which will fund anything from a goat to a mosquito net, a solar lamp to a water testing kit. They start from only £4 and can change lives

Advent has a twofold character: as a season to prepare for Christmas, when Christ’s first coming to us is remembered; and as a season when that remembrance directs the mind and heart to await Christ’s coming at the end of time. Advent is thus a period for devout and joyful expectation.

Nazanin Zaghari-Radcliffe’s family has asked for cards to be sent to her in prison. If you wish to do this, please choose a small card or postcard and include a short, non-political message. Send it to: Nazanin Zaghari-Radcliffe, Evin Prison, District 2, Behest Street, TEHRAN, Islamic Republic of Iran.

A big thank you to all involved in St. Peter’s School Nativity & carol service. Just over £300.00 was raised for the SVP. Staff and children are to be congratulated on their effort and preparation, all of which confirmed the importance and value of our Catholic Schools.

Many thanks to St Illtyd’s High School for their donation of 15 hampers of food for the most needy of our parish.

These have been distributed by the members of the SVP.
